How do you translate this sentence into French?

or

"Quand Faust a bu le poison, il voulait voir Marguerite."



To me,

"Quand Faust but le poison, il voulut voir Marguerite."

and

"Quand Faust buvait le poison, il voulut voir Marguerite."

would be translated by "as" or "while" in the English sentence.



Also, we can use "voulait" because "to want" is one of the verbs that usually don't accept progressive form (they're performative or something like that).



Note that my mother language is French, and what I say about English shouldn't be considered as much reliable.

Reply:Im sure theres a setting on the computer that you can use to set any language to translate anything at all! The only thing is Im a dimwit (thats french for 'idiot' I believe), and I dont know how you would find it.

Im guessing if you write 'translate english to french' in google searchbar, it will come up with something.

Also Have you thought of going into French Yahoo Answers, and see if anyone in there can help you any.



I know Iv seen it, but it was to do with Chinese, so obvs that no help to you, but Im sure there are lots you can find, even if you just write 'translate' into google searchbar.
